New pics! New review! New interview! New shows! New Delhi!
Okay... maybe not so much New Delhi, but I do hear it has an eclectic blend of both old world charm and new world convenience. The rest of it is true, though. There are a new batch of pictures to be found in the Band Pictures section, featuring our good friend Matt (you know, for the kids). We also have a new review and interview, both from Germany's Obliveon Zine! They are, as to be expected, written in German... but fear not, gentle unilingualist! We have provided translations for both in the Reviews and Interviews sections, respectively. It's our first interview, so check it out and find out what Thomas has to say about old-folks home karaoke.
Finally, if you head your net savvy self over to the Live section, you'll find two new shows added! The first of which takes place on April 21st in Denton, with our partners in psuedoSatanism (just kidding, Grammy) Bat Castle! Then we'll be partaking in the one and only Sluggfest XI at the Ridglea on June 2nd. More details on that (probably) coming soon! Until then, please remember: We are sovereignty in flesh. We’ve climbed down from the stars to stand before you as idols, in splendour and perfection. Stellar. Master. Elite.

New Reviews Posted
I have finally decided to stop being such a lazy asshole and post the collection of autocratopolis CD reviews that have been floating around cyberspace over the past year or so. So by all means, head over to the CD Reviews section now. You'll probably find me in there, feeding my ego over and over again. Mmmm... self indulgence...

URIZEN Promo Video
In this technologically advanced world of ours, it is important to be able to express yourself and your endeavors using all means and mediums available. And thus, a time comes when a band must build a robot, videotape themselves on stage with it, and create a promotional video with that footage. With that being said, we have just created and uploaded a short Urizen promo video (featuring the Autocratopolis track "Barren Winds"), which can be found here, and forever in the future in the Audio/Video section. Also, we have uploaded the video to YouTube.com, so feel free to watch it and leave comments asking us to explain who the guy in the goggles is: HERE. So please, feel free to share this video with friends and lovers, code it into your MySpace pages, or just play it on a loop and let it be the soundtrack to your very existence.

Daniel Voted World's Sexiest Man!!!
I know, I know... it came as a bit of a shock to me as well, but I figured it was only a matter of time, especially considering the enormous success of my top-selling swimsuit calendar. But let's put all of that aside, I'm not a vain person. We've got matters to discuss. First on the agenda: On Friday, May 19th, Urizen will be performing at The Phoenix (formerly Dreamworld) in Arlington as part of a show being presented concurrently by both RenegadeRadio.net and HardRadio.com. In addition to this, we will appear as special guests on the show "Monday Metal Madness" on RenegadeRadio.net, this Monday, May 8th to promote the show and tell tales of Julio's childhood as a Thai hooker. The radio show runs from 8-10 CST, and can be accessed from anywhere in the world at RenegadeRadio.net. Listen. Learn. Be part of the solution.
Article II: Out of the kindness of my bulging, "too-big-for-the-measuring-device" heart, I have lowered the online price of autocratopolis to the low low price of $10!!! To take advantage of my poor business sense (as usual), visit CDBaby.com immediately. Did I mention that autocratopolis is also now available on iTunes.com as well? You're damn right it is. What else is new? I'll tell you what it shwas. Urizen has now been added to the lineup of SLUGGFEST IX! What's even better is that this Sluggfest will be taking place (on May 27th) at our home away from home, Ridglea Theater. So make sure you're there early, we go on at 3:30, then feel free to get as drunk as you damn well please. But remember, we at Urizen to not advocate drinking and driving. Or drinking. Or driving. See you in the papers.

OH MY GOD!! AN UPDATE!!
Well.... hello there friends! It has been quite a while since the last update (as you can see) and I'm willing to bet that there are a few of you who are wondering what the hell ole' URIZEN has been up to. First off, though, we at URIZEN would like to thank everyone who came to see us play with "Sonata Arctica"! We had a blast and we hope that you did too! Extra super secret special thanks to our Colorado stage crew: Ty- The mega-pale cupid for blinding the audience with his un-bronzed skin; Seth-Daniel's Robot-Lover for allowing cupid to systematically destroy his feeble robot body; and Ryan- For making sure the show went off without a hitch and for acquiring a few snippets of video despite the overly paranoid security!! Also, thank you to Ted and the promoters at FLC for giving us such a wonderful opportunity And, as usual, many, many thanks to Wesley and the Ridglea Theater for always believing in us and giving URIZEN a stage to call "home"!!
As for life after "Sonata".... well.... it went something like this: Julio was abducted by space-aliens who mistook him for Lou Diamond Phillips and brought him to the edge of the universe to be sold on the black market. Upon realizing that an error had been made Julio was promptly thrown into a trash bin and fired into a nearby star. He will be missed. Fortunately, URIZEN was able to create a clone of Julio using DNA collected from locks of his hair and broken drum sticks. Matt traveled back to his home in the swamp where he was swallowed alive by an eighteen foot Anaconda. Matt survived the two week digestion period by feasting on fellow victims and stomach bile. The trauma has left Matt with a strange inability to resist telling jokes that end with the punchline: "Bangkok". Thomas traveled to Sweden for a sex-change operation in hopes of finally realizing his true calling as a female body builder. However, his dreams were promptly crushed upon learning that only naturally born women can compete. Unfortunately, this revelation came moments after the completion of the first stage of the transformation process. Thomas returned home to find that his pants no longer fit him properly. Sam purchased a pack of "Black & Milds" and returned to the world of Funk to continue the "blackening" of his soul. When asked why the emphasis was to be shifted Sam replied: "URIZEN's soul is the wrong kind of black!" He can presently be found creating a musical weapon of mass destruction!! Following an altercation with a nun and several postal workers, Daniel disappeared on a spiritual journey around the world. Since returning, his speech has become fragmented and incoherent, and as a result, no one but him may ever know what truly happened during his leave of absence. Conspiracy theorists, however, have been able to place Daniel in various places over the lost period of time, including Stonehenge, Vatican City, and Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. The only other clue as to his whereabouts comes in the form of the mysterious tattoo on his left buttock that reads, "I Am Not A Crook." Daniel is currently residing in a group home, and should be out by summer. And despite all of that, URIZEN managed to rock their very first house party with good friends Bat Castle and Benevolence in Ft. Worth on Friday, March 11th. Good times were had by all!! Thanks to BC's Robyn for giving us a living room to don, and to BC themselves and Benevolence for donning it with us!!
And as for the future.... URIZEN will be celebrating the green-est holiday on Friday, March 17th in Denton, TX at The Inferno!!! That's right, URIZEN will be performing on St. Patty's Day so make sure that you are green-clothing free so that a long, cruel night of pinching can rightfully ensue! URIZEN will begin at 9 o'clock... so make sure you are there at or before this time.... unless your aim is to miss seeing us.... in which case you can do pretty much whatever you want...... except being at the Inferno in Denton, TX on Friday the 17th at 9 PM.
I suppose that should do it for now. I hope to see all of you in Denton on Friday for a heapin' helpin' of happiness pie, until then..... keep your eyes.... open.

New Year! Sonata Arctica! Buy Buy Buy!!!
Ahhh yes... so this is 2006, eh? It looks pretty good so far, friends. It's going to looking even better in about 3 weeks, on February 15th when Sonata Arctica rolls into town, and us humble Uri-Men join them for a show extraordinaire at the Ridglea Theater. Plus, our Longview buddies Delusion Of Grandeur have been added to the bill! And did I mention that if you buy the tickets direct from us, you pay only $20, as opposed to the regular ticket price of $26!?! What a deal!!! Time is running out, so contact either Julio at (817) 521-8169 or Thomas/myself at (817) 490-0285 for more info and ensure your participation in this milestone in UriHistory!
But don't forget, we'll be appearing once more before then when we return to the Railhead Saloon in Lawton, Oklahoma this Saturday, January 28th. So if you're in the area, come join the party! Well... I really don't have too much more to say. The Sonata Arctica show has pretty much been the center of our universe since December. So is that all the business? Yes? No? Alex? What's the word? I think we're good here. Buy Sonata Arctica tickets NOW!!!
