New Shows; New Sketches; 2005 Wrap-Up
Oh how the time flies, faithful UriFriends! Is it really Non-Religious, Generic Holiday Celebration time already!?! Well, it's a good thing it is, friends, because I have gift wrapped a whole new set of Live dates, to be found waiting under the Christmas tree, which we call the Live Section. There you will find information about a most excellent show that's coming up next Thursday, December 29th at Ridglea Theater. You definitely won't want to miss this one, kiddies, as it shall be quite a sight to behold. Not only will we be performing rarely-played-live tracks from autocratopolis, but there have been rumors involving robots and Santa Claus... DON'T MISS IT!!! You know what else mid-late December means? End of the school semester for me! But what does that mean for you? New Notebook Sketches, that's what!!! It's been a while since I posted some new sketches, and god knows it will probably be another year before I do it again, so enjoy!

2005 has been great for all of us here at Urizen Headquarters. Much has happened for us this past year... we heard ourselves on the radio for the first time ever, and even had the honor of doing an on-air interview with American Forces Radio in Heidelberg, Germany. We crammed in an entire year of live shows, playing with the biggest and best bands in the North Texas area, plus our first ever show opening for a national act with Roadrunner Records' Trivium. But nothing, NOTHING can compare to the overwhelming joy of releasing, at long last, our debut LP, autocratopolis in August. And so, we look onward to 2006, a year that is already promising to be a memorable one, with an opening slot with Sonata Arctica in February and some very special summer plans in the works. But clearly, none of this could ever be possible without all of the wonderful fans we have become aquainted with over the past year and a half. You have all made us feel extremely fortunate, and your support has made all of our hard work absolutely worthwhile. We are eternally grateful! 2006 - Here we come!

SONATA ARCTICA
Well, my friends, I have just recieved official word that Urizen will be opening up for none other than Finnish metallers Sonata Arctica when they come to the Ridglea Theater in Ft. Worth on February 15th, 2006!!! We are HUGE fans of these guys, and it is an absolutle honor to get to play with them. Starting next week, we will personally be selling tickets for the show, so if you or anyone you know is planning on attending, send them our way! We will make it worth their while! We'll keep you posted on all the details as the come, but I just wanted to let everyone know the sheer excitement we are feeling from this news!
And don't forget, Urizen will be partaking in the most excellent Sluggfest VIII tomorrow at The Phoenix in Arlington. The whole thing starts at 12pm, and we'll be donning the Second Stage at 2:30, so get there early! I believe it's $15, maybe 10... something like that. I may have some new pictures that I need to post, and I've got a few new reviews that will make their way here shortly. But we'll save that for another day. Godspeed, my children!

New Live Pics; Oklahoma Invasion
My god... I can't believe there haven't been any live picture updates since May! That's ridiculous... I am embarrassed in myself. So what do I do when I feel I have let you all down? I overcompensate! So here you go: a massive splattering of new Live Pictures. But these aren't just any live pictures... these are pictures of NEZIRU at the Halloween Extravaganza! Gaze in horror at Sam's dead baby accessory! Marvel at Thomas' striking similarity to Immortal's Abbath! Bow at the Satanic feet of Minister Matt! Ooze and throb at the sight of Julio's painted on abs! And shield your eyes from the glare of my metal-plated cod piece! Plus, keep an eye out for our evil buddies in Benevolence!
Also, this weekend Urizen will be packing up our fresh undies and Pepto Bismol for our first-ever show in Oklahoma! On Friday, November 4th at the Railhead Saloon in Lawton, Oklahoma, we will be playing a show with our Dallas friends Hollow, as well as a few local Oklahoma bands. If you're in or around the area, come out and watch us pull the "buy our CD so we can buy gas to get home" excuse!

Fear NEZIRU; Julio Retains Crown
It's that time again, boils and ghouls... HALLOWEEN! And this year, your faithful friends in Urizen are going to help you 'ween it up in style! On Saturday, October 29th at Division One's Halloween Party, Urizen will storm the stage as trve kvlt black metallers NEZIRU! This special, one-night-only set of exclusively black metal covers will feature songs from bands like Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Emperor and Finntroll! The Division One Halloween shindig starts early at 4PM, and goes all the way til 2AM, and features both a costume contest, and a "Best Devil Girl" contest for the ladies... and Julio. So wear you costume, slather on some corpsepaint, and do something worthwhile this Halloween weekend. Besides, you have until Tuesday morning to smash everyone's poorly guarded jack-o-lanterns.
As an extra bit of news, I would like to announce that for the second year in a row, Julio has claimed the title of "Fastest Feet in Dallas" at Ozzfest. Not only that, but he won some drum pedal that he's never going to use, because Julio and Urizen use Axis Drum Pedals exclusively! Hear that, Axis? I can practically smell the endorsement from here. For those of you wondering, Thomas did not fulfill his promise to dethrone Julio this year. You've got his email. Send him hate mail.
In website related matters, you can now find a list of retail stores that carry autocratopolis in the Merchandise section. Be sure to set aside plenty of time to go through them all. It could take days. Maybe weeks. Can you tell what a bitter man I have become? Somebody kill me.

Back In Business!
Ahhh... we're back, baby! After a brief hiatus from both the online world and the live stage, we come thrusting back with an insensitive vengeance! We're finally getting back to playing regular shows, the first of which is coming up this Friday, October 14th at The Phoenix (formerly Dreamworld) in Arlington. We have a lot of pent up energy to spend, so be sure to come out and watch us self-destruct! Check out the Live page for more upcoming UriMadness!
But that's not all! We've got new online goodies to share as well! If you'll look slightly to your right, you may notice a newly created Press section, where you can find any juicy rumors that the "newsies" have been cooking up about Urizen. Actually... it's just a Reviews section, but that's good too, right? This was more or less spurred from a delicious review of autocratopolis that was featured on XtremeDFW.com, which can be seen in the freshly cooked Press section. Who knows what you'll find in there!?!
That's enough for now... my back hurts from updating... We hope to see you all on Friday, and I hope you're preparing your costumes for Urizen's BLACK METAL HALLOWEEN (details coming soon)!!! I know I am! Corpsepaint? Check. Black clothing? Check. Gaudy codpiece? CHECK!!!

Technological Terror; New Shows
Okay faithful UriSoldiers, most of you have probably noticed that we haven't updated in many moons... The reason for this is that we've been having technical difficulties. The computer that I update the site on is F'ed momentarily, so don't expect any fancy updating business anytime soon. However, we do have new shows set up, and you can find all the details for those at our MySpace page: URIZEN@MySpace.com As a matter of fact, you should pretty much always check the MySpace site for Live Show information, because it is easy to update, so it is almost always more accurate. So if you're bored from waiting for an update, feel free to leave your mark in our Guestbook or, even better, write a full on review of autocratopolis at CDBaby.com That is all, men. At ease.

Autocratopolis now available online; New band pics
Due to the heinous increase in gas prices, we here at Urizen Headquarters decided that in order to truly help you, the consumer, it was necessary to make autocratopolis available from the comfort of your own homes. Thus, with the help of CDBaby.com, the web's best source for independent music, Urizen's autocratopolis can now be securely ordered online with a credit card! Click here to get your copy, or follow the link from our very own Merchandise page and let the overwhelming joy begin!
We are also very pleased to present to you a brand new set of Urizen promo pics, titled "The Neon Lounge Session", which can be viewed in all their unadultered glory in the Band Pictures section! Those of you who already own a copy of autocratopolis will recognize this shoot from the booklet, and will probably wonder why we took so many damn pictures if we were only going to use one of them... The answer? We thoroughly enjoy hanging out in 110 degree garages in June.
Keep checking Urizen Online for upcoming info, including very special Halloween plans, and enjoy autocratopolis if you have it! If you don't have your copy yet... what are you waiting for? It's available online for Christ's sake! How much more easy can it get?!? The answer? None. None more easy.

New shows; Autocratopolis jewel sleeves
I have to start out by saying... what an incredible CD release show that was! We want to sincerely thank everyone you came out last night to celebrate the long overdue release of autocratopolis, you really made the night for us. An even bigger thanks goes to everyone who bought a copy of the CD. We hope you enjoy them thoroughly... in a non-sexual way... or a purely sexual way. Also, I just want all of you to know that even though his car was totaled on the way to the show, Matt showed true dedication by playing an amazing set without a single complaint. This, my friends, is what being a true UriSoldier is all about. We love you Matt... in a non-sexual way... or a purely sexual way.
There is something I need to discuss here, it's about the CDs. To make a long story short, autocratopolis is supposed to have a cardboard sleeve that slips over the jewel case, but because of an unforseen problem, the first 100 had to be shipped without them to make it in time for the release show. What this means is that if you bought a CD last night, we will give you a slipcover if you want one. Just ask us in some form or another and we'll work it out. From next week on, however, all copies of autocratopolis will come complete with slipcovers. To view the slipcover, which is, in fact, the cover of the album, check out the Discography page. And yes... the cover we posted last time was a joke. Whether this makes you happy or sad is an entirely different matter...
Finally, we have two new confirmed shows to announce, with more in the works. Just take your bad self to the Live page for all the gruesome and tragic details. autocratopolis will be available to order online in the next week or two, so... keep your eyes... open.

Welcome to AUTOCRATOPOLIS
Oh dear God!! Is it really true?!? After an exhaustive journey, the debut Urizen LP, titled "autocratopolis" has been completed! Urizen Headquarters was abuzz with joy as the album was finally put to rest; a full 21 years ahead of schedule! Now I know you're asking yourself pertinent questions such as, "When will it be available?" and "Where can I get my copy?" and "Is Julio's chest naturally smooth, or does he wax it?" I have the answers to sooth your queries, dear friends. The life of Urizen's autocratopolis will officially begin on Friday, August 19th, when we, along with our partners in crime Primitive Return, will invade Ridglea Theater for a double CD release party!
This will be your first chance to own autocratopolis, and as a one-time-only deal, you can buy your copy of the full, beautifully packaged CD for only $5!!! Again, this price will NEVER be available again, so be sure to come out and take advantage of our poor business sense. You will always be able to buy autocratopolis at our live shows, but once released, it will be available right here at Urizen Online, so be on the lookout. And finally... No, Julio does not wax his chest. He uses a razor like a real man!
In celebration of the completion of autocratopolis, we are posting both the authentic, never-before-seen album cover (which can be viewed here in the Discography section); as well as a brand new audio sample taken from the autocratopolis track, "(or 3 steps" which can be found here in the Audio/Video section. This is the beginning of big things for us here at Urizen, so be prepared! Get autocratopolis... before it gets you!

Things! Finally!
At last! A steamy, frothy load of gooey goodness has been splattered across the willing face of Urizen Online! There hasn't been an update of "stuff" since, what, January? Boy how time flies. So here's the poop: First, I offer to the gods a new Random Thought, ripe from the brain of yours truly. Second, I am proud to unveil the new Band Bios section, hot and fresh from the oven. And finally, about two months worth of Live Pictures, begging to be groped by your collective eyes. Ahhhh!!! What a feeling to have things again!!
I will also remind you that the much anticipated Victoria Park Summer Kick-Off show is rapidly approaching! Head over to the Live section for all the juicy details! And while you're there, scroll on down and check out the brand new flyer for July 2nd's KB KARNEVIL at the Ridglea Theater! We have some great shows and huge announcements coming up, so stay tuned to Urizen Online: The Cure For AIDS

Pointless Update
Oh man... this site has been lying dorment for almost an entire month now. What can I say? Things have been busy here at UriNation Enterprises Inc. Ltd. Intl. Here's what has happened since the last update: We played Sluggfest and it kicked ass. We asked to play the next Sluggfest. We were declined. We played Double Dave's. It sucked. The pizza did not suck. We played Dreamworld. Matt vomited. We played the Aardvark. It was good. During that show, someone smashed in my car window and stole my iPod. That sucked. And just this very night, we played the Red Blood Club for the 2nd time, and it was quite good. So all in all... the past month has pretty much sucked. But we forge on here at Urizen. This summer is sure to be awesome, with great shows coming up at Tomcats, Ridglea, and Victoria Park. Plus, we have a big announcement to make! Big news! Exciting landmark happenings! But not today. You must be patient.
Also, we leave tomorrow for a 5-day journey to South Padre Island, so if you try to contact one of us, and we don't respond, don't become too insane with anger. We wouldn't have responded anyway. Yes!!! We'll be back for the Tomcats show on Friday, and we expect all fo you to be there too! It will be a Welcome Back party! Until then, we may be at the southern tip of Texas, but you can always find us right here... (I'm pointing to my nuts right now... But that has nothing to do with what I just said.... I was just telling you.) Oh yeah, one more thing: Don't see the new Star Wars. It was terrible. And I love Star Wars. But not this one because it was horrible. Thank you.

SLUGGFEST!!!
Yes!! URIZEN has been added to the lineup of Sluggfest 6, this Satuday, April 30th at Dreamworld in Arlington. This is going to be a great show, featuring bands like Element Eighty, Jacknife, Lord Slugg and more! I know this is last minute, but I'm just trying to give the heads up. We'll be playing the 2nd Stage at 3:30, originally Primitive Return's time slot. What's the deal, PR, you weren't good enough to get on the 1st Stage? Hahahaha!!! Suckas! Actually, we only got this slot because the Primitive Return guys requested that we fill it, so thanks again fellows!
In other late breaking news, another day long festival has been booked at Double Dave's (5800 Camp Bowie Blvd.) in Ft. Worth this Sunday, May 1st. It's free, but the pizza isn't... it's damn good though, especially the pizza rolls. It starts at 1 in the afternoon, I believe, and features bands like Oceanus, With These Words, and Coming of Age, plus many more. Hey man, it's free! Just go!
And for those of you looking for something to do this summer, poke a head or two into the Live section. I just posted all of our shows through July, that way you can plan the rest of your life accordingly. I, however, am off to put some buns in the oven...

No Show Tonight; Tomcats Special Offer
As was posted on the Live page, we were supposed to play at The Inferno in Denton tonight... you know, to make up for the show that got cancelled on us last month? Anyway, this show was booked three weeks ago, and since then I haven't been able to get in touch with the club's booking manager. Then yesterday, I see flyers advertising a completely different show at The Inferno tonight, so I put two and two together and realized that we will not be performing at The Inferno in Denton tonight. There will be a show there tonight, we just won't be playing at it.
Here's some good news though: We are currently preselling tickets for next Saturday's show at Tomcats in Deep Ellum. So if you buy a presell ticket, you can get into Tomcats on Friday and Saturday for only 7 bucks. But wait!! For this very special occasion, we will be selling these weekend pass presell tickets for ONLY $5!! What a deal! So be sure to flag one of us Uri-Fellows down and demand you tickets to Tomcats! For a full lineup for both nights, check the Tomcats calender at Ft. Worth Music.
And finally, we want to thank everyone that was involved in the mighty Ridglea Metal Fest 3! What an intense, awesome experience that was! There are too many to thank, but we must show our extreme gratitude for Mr. Ted Cromer, who works his ass off to put these things together. It's a great thing for the bands and the fans alike, and the damn thing gets bigger every time. If you missed it, you missed out big, that's all I can say. Pictures from that show will be up soon (seriously, I mean it this time). I have also added a massive load of show dates to the Live page, so be sure to check those out. That's it for me, kiddies, we'll see you at Tomcats on April 23rd!

METALFEST!!!
The day is almost upon us, dear friends! April 9th and 10th!! Ridglea Metal Fest III!! I highly suggest attending both days of this festival because it's only 20 bucks, but remember, URIZEN storms the 2nd Main Stage at 8:30 on Sunday, April 10th, so be there and show your allegiance to the Great UriNation! Also, I highly recommend buying your tickets online NOW because RMF ads have been running on the radio, and tickets are selling out fast! To buy the two-day pass, go here. To buy tickets for Day 1 ONLY, go here. And, for tickets to Day 2 ONLY, go here. These tickets are all ridiculously cheap, so you have no excuse to miss this one! It will be a weekend to remember, that's for sure. As usual, we will be selling T-shirts, and giving away demos and stickers absolutely free! (While supplies last, mind you.) Such madness! Such mayhem! Ridglea Metal Fest III!!! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH GODDD!!!!!

SUCKAS!
It seems that we have made fools out of some of you... April fools, to be exact. Some of you won't admit that you fell for it, but I know a few of you did. But don't feel bad, even Julio himself wasn't sure if it was a joke or not. The truth of the matter is that all of us, as well as all of you, are stuck with Thomas for the time being. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Posthuman Records doesn't even exist anymore. So, we'll still be playing our scheduled shows, we'll still be finishing Autocratopolis, and we'll still be sending secret admirer letters to Matt every Sunday. If any of you are feeling hurt or betrayed, enjoy this picture of our good friend Michael caked in a layer of mud at Spring Break Melt Down III in Victoria Park last month. Now that's metal!
-Daniel: Feasts Upon the Fungus Among Us

Thomas leaves URIZEN
Due to the coming of unforeseen circumstances, Thomas has decided that he can no longer fulfill his duties with URIZEN. Last Friday, Thomas was asked by Marilyn Manson's Posthuman Records (under the umbrella of Priority Records) to join their staff as an audio engineer. Because he could not pass up such an enormous opportunity, Thomas, after many hours of discussion with Julio and myself, decided to accept the position. He will be leaving for Los Angeles at the end of the month.
Now, as to what this means for the future of URIZEN, here's the deal: Julio and I will still release Autocratopolis as planned, although a complete version does not look hopeful. After that, however, we are not sure what lies ahead for us. Julio, Matt and I wish Thomas the best of luck in California, and we hope that you all will stick with us during the changes happening in the upcoming months. I will most likely post an official statement from Thomas within the next week.
The Great Uri-Nation Battles On!

March 23, 2005

INFERNO SHOW CANCELLED!!
The curse continues... The two other bands that were supposed to play tonight bailed at the last minute, and I just now got the call from The Inferno that the show is no more. However, we will be playing there next month to make up for it, so I will keep you posted on those details as they come. What can I say? I'm sorry for those of you who were coming tonight, or for those who might go anyway, not knowing it is cancelled. Maybe if these bands had a little more dedication... or decency to not leave clubs naked at the last minute. *sigh*

RMFIII Changes
Changes... for the worse? Never! Changes for the BETTER! Due to some recent restructuring of the Ridglea Metal Fest, which resulted in the addition of a 2nd day, URIZEN will now be performing on Sunday, April 10th at 8:30 PM on the 2nd Main Stage! Not only that, but this now puts us a mere three slots away from the headlining act, Roadrunner Records recording artists Trivium. The entire day is going to be filled with great metal bands (visit the RMF website for full lineup), including When Life Has Ceased, featuring our very own boy-toy Julio as a guest drummer! But what's the best part of all of this? You can go to the Sunday show for only $10! Or, if you have some money burning a hole in your pocket, you can spring for $20 to attend both days. Either way, you'll want to visit Front Gate Tickets soon, before this show sells out. Trust me, you won't find this many great bands on the same bill for this price anywhere else.
And for those of you who were wondering, it was a good weekend for all of us here at Urizen Enterprises. We kicked things off Friday night with a great show at Tomcats, had a blast getting covered in mud with Primitive Return in Victoria Park for SBMD3, and enjoyed a peaceful day of rest on Sunday... because the Double Dave's show was cancelled. You know what that meant? No free pizza... It made us sad. Anyway, I'll have pictures up from both of those shows shortly, and I hope to see all of your bright shining faces tomorrow night at The Inferno in Denton and again on Friday at Tomcats in Deep Ellum. I'm off to eat some M&Ms and spank the monkey!
-Daniel: Not Intended for Re-Use

March 18, 2005

URIZEN tonight at Tomcats!
"But Daniel," you say to me, "I'm too hung over from my St. Patrick's Day shenanigans to go out again!" Well, you know what they say... something about the hair of the dog that bit you... That means that if you are regretting being drunk, you should get drunk again! And I have good news for you... Tomcats is a BAR!!! So bring your family and friends for a night of debauchery with TWO stages of metal all under the same roof.
Also, I have updated the Live page, as we will be playing two more shows at Tomcats; one on March 25th and the other on April 23rd. We will be selling tickets to the March 25th show that will get you in to Tomcats on both Friday and Saturday, all for the price of one admission! You'll only get this deal from one of us Uri-Men, so seek us out as if we were Holy Relics. We'll see you tonight at Tomcats, tomorrow at Spring Break Melt Down III in Irving, and Sunday at Double Dave's in Fort Worth. We'll be the ones vomiting up our body weight in pizza!
-Daniel: He IS That Time of the Month

March 12, 2005

Dreamworld Show CANCELLED!!!
As you may have deciphered from my vague headline, the show at Dreamworld has been cancelled. From what I understand, they have been having major issues with the power supply over there, and tonight's show was cancelled as a precaution, mainly so all of our equipment wasn't ruined. We apologize for anyone who was planning on attending tonight's show, although this saves me from having to apologize to everyone after the show like I usually do. We hope that you will attend one of our shows next weekend, for they are abundant. I promise to make it up to you by setting up a kissing booth at next Friday's Tomcats show. I assure you that Julio will be slathered in Chapstick all week in preparation. Until then, rest those lips, D/FW!
-Daniel has been Cancelled

March 3, 2005

URIZEN at Ridglea Metal Fest III
Yes, we are very proud and excited to announce that we have been invited to play at Ridglea Metal Fest III, one of the largest metal/hardcore festivals in the Southwest!! We are also very excited to announce that this year's RMF will feature several national acts, and will be headlined by Century Media recording artists God Forbid! Not only that, but RMF is a showcase for the region's top artists, and will include over 30 of the biggest names in local metal and hardcore! Note the use of exclamation points!!!
All this is going to take place on Saturday, April 9th at 12 noon at the Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth, with us humble Uri-Men storming the 3rd Stage at 6:40. Tickets for this show cost $15 if you buy them in advance at Front Gate Tickets, and will cost $18 at the door. However, this show will very likely sell out before the doors even open, so buy your tickets now! For a full list of participating bands, as well as set times, visit the Ridglea Metal Fest website. This is going to be absolute madness, so DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!!
-Daniel Comes Fom the Sky!

New/Revised Show schedule; HOTFM radio wrap-up
What a crazy weekend of live business... if you look at the Live page, you will see that the entire page has changed since the last update, aside from the Double Dave's show. First change: yet again, the Division One show has been cancelled. I don't know what the deal is over there, but the owner seems hellbent on keeping his club metal-free. Needles to say, the entire DFW metal scene will be cheering when it gets bulldozed to the ground to make way for the new Cowboys stadium. Suckas!! The second change, however, is that we have two new shows to make up for it. The first will be Saturday, March 12th at Dreamworld in Arlington and the second will be back at the Tomcats Back Room on Friday, March 18th. And finally, the last change to the Live page is the newly revised flyer for the March 19th Spring Break Melt Down show with our friends Primitive Return.
And for those of you who were wondering, the interview on Heidelberg's HOTFM went most splendidly! The hour consisted of interview segments with Thomas, Julio and myself, Urizen-requested songs from bands like Rammstein, Type O Negative, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the broadcast of three Urizen songs, including the world-premiere of Neon! We want to send a very enthusiastic thank you to Derrol "Deuce" Fulghum for having us on the show and keeping us very entertained during the off-the-air periods of time. (P.S. Your "intimate" secret is safe with us! Hahaha!!) The show was recorded at the studio, and a copy of it will be making it across the sea to us soon, at which time we will post it here at Urizen Online. We would also like to thank our loyal German PR representative, Mr. George E. Guerhl, for securing this very unique opportunity. We'll try not to forget you when we reach the top! Haha!!! That's it for now, faithful scumdogs. I have many live pictures to post, but Uncle Daniel is a bit under the weather this weekend. Until they are posted, enjoy the existing Live Pics. I'm off to bed, where my body will rot and stink up the house.. more than usual, I mean.

URIZEN On AFN Radio in Germany
Check this one, my dear Uri-Family. Tomorrow morning (Friday the 25th) at 10AM (5PM W. Europe Standard Time) URIZEN will be featured on HOTFM 104.6 (the American Forces Network Europe radio station) in Heidelberg, Germany. In addition to a call-in interview, the station will be playing a selection of Urizen songs from the upcoming release, Autocratopolis. This is a great honor and privilege, as well as an opportunity to give support to our forces overseas. If any of you have some way of listening, by all means, please do. We will more than likely have the interview here for download in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes open.
Also, I have reposted never felt so dreadful for download in its full, uninterrupted form. With it being on all the demos and such, there was really no reason to shorten it down to a clip, so enjoy! And, as Julio graciously pointed out the other day, the address I posted for Double Dave's Pizza is, in fact, very wrong. As you may recall, there is no Double Dave's in Deep Ellum... The real address for Double Dave's is 2800 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Ft. Worth. Finally. there is one more very exciting piece of news to report, but I will hold out on that one until all the details are final... Mmmmm.... Yes....
-Daniel: Oh my God... He's Even Got a Watermark

URIZEN Tonight at Tomcats!
Whoa! Friday has finally come for those of us who suffer through work and school and sweatshop labor, and what better way to kick back and relax than to join URIZEN for a night of sex and debachery at Tomcats!?! This is going to be a great night of metal, headlined by Nothing Remains, in the back room of Tomcats (2914 Commerce St. in Deep Ellum). Plus, this will be your last chance to catch URIZEN live and in the flesh for a full month, so get it out of your system now! We're kicking things off at 8:30, so be there and be remakably square.
We also have two new shows to report: the first is going to be another parking lot show at Double Dave's Pizza (2914 Commerce St. in Ft. Worth) which should definately be a blast, and most likely free as well. Now, as some of you may have noticed from the post in the Guestbook, the February 26th show at Division One has been axed. However, a new show has been scheduled at Division One for March 24th, so balance has been restored to the Uri-verse. And finally, poke your head into the Miscellaneous section for a brand new Random Thought from Thomas and Julio. It's a very heartwarming installment. I will be posting some pictures from the February 6th show at Blackcat's very soon, but I just didn't have it in me for this post. And also, I meant to post this a long time ago, but maybe I can still make a difference: Please, PLEASE do not watch The Village. I beg of you, do not watch that movie. If you have one shred of faith left in humanity, for the love of God, heed my words and stay far away from that movie. I can only hope and pray that you will take my advice... For those of you who have already witnessed it, I hope you are coping well. I am not.

URIZEN Hits the Airwaves; Congrats MYPLASTICFRIENDS
We had a great time at the Battle of the Bands on Wednesday! Big thanks to all the bands that played that night, and a special congratulations to MYPLASTICFRIENDS from Longview on their victory. We wish them good luck in the final round! So wait... if they won, that means that Urizen... didn't win? That's right, kiddies, we tried our damnedest to bring one home in the name fo the great UriNation, but couldn't quite clench the victory. Despite the stink of failure, a good time was had by all, and although Urizen didn't win the Battle of the Bands, the team of Julio and Abel managed to reign victorious over the team of Matt and Bobby in an epic foosball tournament for the ages!! That was worth the price of admission alone!
In other news, those of you who happened to be tuned in to KNON 89.3 last night for Hard Time Radio had the pleasure of hearing "never felt so dreadful" for the first time ever on public radio! And as if that wasn't enough good news for one night, Gabe scored two free tickets to the Morbid Angel show on Sunday! Alright! ...Wait... Sunday? Forget Morbid Angel, Urizen is going to be playing at Blackcat's in Ft. Worth that night! And it's FREE! Who wants to see Morbid Angel anyway? They should be called "Mor-Bad Angel" if you ask me. Yes! Seriously though, we'll be playing a free show at Blackcat's Billiards in Ft. Worth on Sunday the 6th, so if you're over 18, come on down! This better not interfere with my Super Bowl viewing, though, because nothing, and I mean nothing can keep me away from my beloved "the big game"!

URIZEN... DEAD!?!
No, but Friday's show at Tomcats is! After one rescheduling already, the Tomcats show has been cancelled, and will probably we set up again at a later date. All this means for you is that you can devote all of your energy to the February 2nd Battle of the Bands at Division One in Arlington. Also, we have another show at Blackcat's Billiards in Fort Worth on February 6th which is always fun. $3 cover and there's pool! You can't lose! Another bit of info that I should probably fill you in on... the February 11th Tomcats show has ben moved to February 18th... at Tomcats. Yes... And finally, the Newsletter is no more. "There's a Newsletter?" you're asking youself. Not anymore. So for those 6 or 7 of you that did sign up for it, I apologize. It's in a better place now. Heaven. And so too will you be if you come to Division One in Arlington on February 2nd for the Battle of the Bands. Do I mean a metaphorical heaven, by which you enjoy the show so much that it's like a paradise? Or do I mean a literal heaven, by which you have died somehow and are in actual heaven? Or do I mean 7th Heaven, the hit WB series featuring the delightful acting style of Stephen Collins and the voracious sex appeal of Barry Watson, who stars in this year's horror tour de force, Boogeyman? Only time will tell...

Once in a Lifetime Chance! WHOA!!
Once in a lifetime? That means it must be good! Here's the deal: URIZEN will be battling it out at a Battle of the Bands at Division One in Arlington on February 2nd. And what good is an army without soldiers? Not very good, I would imagine. So we need YOU, faithful UriMen, to help us achieve victory by coming out to Division One and declaring war! (This means you, F.U.C.K.) "But why should I drag my ass out to see these Urizen A-Holes anyway?" you're probably saying to yourself. Well, that's just a really rude thing to say... But, I assure you, you're efforts will not go unrewarded. When you buy a ticket for the Battle from one of us UriMen, you will be given a Urizen sticker (for free, mind you) with a special marking on the back. Now, if you bring this sticker to us at Division One on February 2nd, you will receive... AN ULTRA-RARE SUPER LIMITED EDITION URIZEN CD!!! That's right, exclusively for this show, we will be putting together a disc of very rare tracks, to possibly include original demo recordings of Urizen tracks, extremely rare Dunwich Horror tracks, and maybe even sneak previews of brand new post-Autocratopolis Urizen songs!! This is definitely a unique opportunity, and much of this material will never be released again, and we're giving it to you FREE!! But the only way to get it is to buy a ticket to the upcoming Battle of the Bands at Division One in Arlington on February 2nd. You'll have plenty of chances to buy tickets in the coming weeks, with a January 16th show in Ft. Worth, a January 23rd show in Ft. Worth, and a January 28th show in Deep Ellum. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY!!
And, in less exciting news, if you visit the Live Pictures page, you will see that I have made some changes. You can now access live pictures of your favorite UriMember by visiting their respective sections. Now you don't have to sort through all the "other" live pictures in your search to find Julio without his shirt on! Also, the live pictures are now sorted by year, and to break in the 2005 section are these pictures from the show at Dreamworld on the 8th. That's all I have to offer, children. Remember, the time has come to rally the troops! An army must be raised, and we will take all challengers by storm!! The Battle begins on February 2nd!!

New Year, New Shows, New Pictures!!!
It's a new year here on planet Earth, and it's going to be a great year here at Urizen Headquarters! We're shaping up nicely with an assload of shows coming up, and I'm not going to bore you by listing them here, so be sure to check out the Live page and support the UriNation live and in the flesh! And speaking of live and in the flesh, here's something that's not live and in the flesh... Pictures! These were taken last Thursday at our "New Year's Eve Eve" show at the Ridglea Theater. I have no choice but to pay respects to Sir Bobby of Gomez for shooting what just might be the most awesome picture of Thomas ever. Good work, old boy. Also, the new year has spawned a new Random Thought from yours truly. And last but not least, in the Audio/Video section, you will find a video of Julio eating... something really gross. Enjoy that one...
We here at Urizen would like to thank all the great bands that we have played with over the course of the year, and look forward to playing with you all again very soon. We would also like to thank all of the club owners that have been giving us these great chances to play, especially Wesley at Ridglea and Shannon at Dreamworld. But most importantly, a big thanks goes out to everyone who supported Urizen in 2004. We've met some awesome new fans and jammed with some great old friends, and we're looking foward to taking it even further in 2005!
